Into the mouth!

So, I put Hinton in his bouncy chair again this morning. I was at the paper shredder (shredding papers, of course) and I looked over to see him chewing on the arch his toys hang off of! I was very surprised, and then laughing, and then scrambling to find the camera. Just the first of many, many things he will get into his mouth!

Reaching Out

It has been several days since I have put Hinton in his bouncy seat. Today was the first time I noticed him intentionally reaching out to make contact with the toys!

Week Eleven

Hinton is eleven weeks old today.

Cute Pics Since Last Week

It has been a week since I posted any pictures! Here are some cute pictures that have been taken in the last week.

Dancing Baby

I got some really funny "dancing" shots of Hinton this morning.

Week Ten

Hinton is ten weeks old today.

He had his two month well baby check up this morning. He is now up to 24 3/4 inches long, and 13 pounds, 10 ounces. Dr. Ronai said he is doing great!

He had his first round of immunizations this morning, which was a little traumatizing. He was exhausted by the time we got home!

Bassinet

I don't know why, but Hinton has suddenly decided that his bassinet is an okay place to sleep! He has slept on his own for three nights in a row now. Maybe I will (finally) be able to move from the couch back to my own bed!

Trip to the Coast

We rented a place at the coast this weekend for Brandon's birthday. It was our first overnight excursion with the little one, and it went remarkably smoothly.

This was the view from our window.

We also took Hinton to his first meal out - McDonald's. I thought this was funny because it is so stereotypically American yet random since Brandon and I almost never eat there!

Tummy Time

Babies are supposed to have "tummy time" every day. So far it is not Hinton's favorite. He squirms around, looking and sounding uncomfortable, and then starts sucking energetically on his hand, every time.

More Bath Pics

I can't help it - bath pictures make me laugh every time. He has some of the funniest expressions!

Holding On

Hinton is now able to hold on to toys if we put them in his hand (but still isn't able to pick them up for himself yet).

Pre-Roll

Hinton has started lifting one shoulder off the ground and twisting his body in a way that looks like it could eventually turn into a roll (although my reading says that most babies don't roll from back to front for another couple months).

Week Nine

Hinton is nine weeks old today.

He is at the point where he is always trying to get his hands in his mouth. In fact, earlier today he had one thumb in his mouth, and was trying to get the other one in there too!

The tiger attacked the bear!

Healthy Baby

I read an article in the last week that said double chins and thigh folds are the hallmark of healthy and well-fed babies!

More Smiles

He is especially smiley and happy when he is on the changing table. I think this is because he is up high, and can see our faces really well.

He pushes his tongue right to the front of his mouth a lot when he smiles!

Two Months Old

Hinton is two months old today.

He has been smiling and laughing a lot the last two weeks. Lots of "talking" too. Two months old is a fun time!

Cute Pics

Another toy that Hinton loves to watch - he gets very wiggly and excited when it moves.

More Toys

Grandma Rolston got Hinton this frog for Christmas. It says "ribbit" in a deep voice when squeezed. Hinton will be lying on the floor getting his wiggles out, and when we hold it up in front of him and make it "ribbit" he will stop moving and watch it with big eyes. He will track it back and forth when we move it in front of him. He really likes this toy!

Not surprisingly, I discovered that Hinton likes his bouncy vibrating chair even better when I remember to put the toys back on it!

This is another toy that we have pulled out for Hinton to play with. It plays music and the cow moves back and forth. He really likes watching the cow - he will watch it for 20+ minutes at a time.
