Year One, Week Twenty-Four

Sidewalk Chalk

Hinton got to color on our sidewalk for the first time this week.

He quickly decided that trying to write on the grass doesn't work very well.

He used both of his hands while drawing.

And was a bit of a mess by the time he was done.

Building Blocks

One of the little things that make me a proud mama: Hinton can now stack blocks and they'll actually stay upright. Well, most of the time.

Year One, Week Twenty-Three

Yard Work

I decided it's time for Hinton to pull his own weight around the house, so I bought him his own tools to use in the yard.

Lawn Chair

I bought a lawn chair for Hinton last summer at a yard sale for $1. I felt silly at the time, since he was probably only 8 months old. But, I pulled it out of the closet today, and he loves it! (So now I feel smart!)

Silly Kid

Hinton started pushing one of his toy walkers around the house a couple days ago. And then yesterday he decided he would push around his high chair instead. It is on wheels, but it is much larger than he is, and he gets frustrated when he can't get it around corners or through doorways.

Also, just this week, every time he sees a basket of laundry he decides he must climb in it.





I've started giving him bananas that aren't cut up into tiny pieces, and it's amusing to watch him eat them.

And this is just a picture of him sleeping that looks especially uncomfortable, right up against the railing and with his hand on his face.

Year One, Week Twenty-Two

We took Hinton to the zoo for the first time this morning . . . and I forgot our camera!! I took a few pictures with my phone. We'll see if I can figure out how to get them transferred to our computer.

17 Months Old!

Hinton is 17 months old today.

He also had another playdate with Ellie this afternoon.
