Hinton's first parent-sanctioned drawing. He likes to write every time he can get a pen in his hand, but thankfully so far he has kept his drawing only on paper. He already seems to get that connection.

He tried out both crayons and markers, both to color with and to taste. He liked the markers better. (Thankfully, both are non-toxic.)

Hinton and I got to go to a birthday BBQ for Uncle Steve and Great Uncle Rick this afternoon.

Chair Climbing video

We have a climber!

This morning Hinton climbed onto the couch in the living room for the first time without assistance. This afternoon Hinton climbed onto one of the kitchen chairs, which, to my knowledge, he had never even tried to do before. For about five seconds I thought I could stop him by moving the chair back in under the table, but, alas, he is clever enough to just pull the chair back out. I can't take my eyes off this kid!

Hoop Swap

We got Hinton a new basketball hoop this evening. This one is adjustable so it isn't too tall for him. He watched Brandon put it together while he was in his highchair. Once he was let down, he ran for it!
