Bath time is (almost) fun!

Today we had our first cry (and pee) free bath!

BJ, Danielle, and Sebastian came over to visit today. Sebastian was born on Oct. 5, about five weeks before Hinton.

Week Six

Hinton is six weeks old today.

Christmas Day

We also spent Christmas Day at Brandon's brother's house, where we had a very nice dinner. Gina (Brandon's aunt) brought "English Crackers" (which you pull apart and find a prize). That is where all of the paper crowns came from.

More Cousins!

Hinton got to spend some time with his other cousins, Kiera, Gabby, and Jack, during Christmas. Gabby and Jack both seemed very interested in him. Kiera got a little quality time in with him too.

We spent Christmas Eve at Brandon's brother's house. A great time was had by all. :-)

Swinging to Sleep

We have started pulling some of the fun toys out of Hinton's room now that he is a little bigger. I have set the swing up in the kitchen, so that he can be in it while I am washing dishes or making myself lunch or the like.

Superheroes and Rag Dolls

We often laugh at Hinton because he looks like he is striking a superhero pose - like he is Superman, about to fly up, up and away!






This afternoon Brandon and I were (finally) hanging up a few pictures in Hinton's room. Hinton was fussing a little bit, so Brandon picked him up. Hinton went from fussy to rag doll asleep in less than 10 seconds!

Week Five

Hinton is five weeks old today!







Lately he has been flashing what seems to be a real smile. I have been stalking my son, trying to get a picture of one. So far, it hasn't worked. Every time I pull out the camera he stops smiling at me and seems transfixed by the shiny metal object I am holding up between us. When I finally get one, I will post it!

One Month Old

Hard to believe, but Hinton is a month old today!

First Bath

Hinton had his very first bath today! Brandon actually took care of almost all of the bath-giving, while I bobbed around and took a few pictures. Hinton did not seem very impressed with his first real bathing experience.

He was amusingly mellow today while we were taking these pictures, letting us pose him any which way we wanted to.

More Firsts

Here are some cute new pictures of Hinton:

I just like this picture of him sleeping. It also shows off his newly chubby cheeks. We had our last appointment with the lactation specialist at Salem Pediatrics, and she was very happy with his weight gain. On Thursday he weighed in at 9 lbs, 6 oz; up almost 2 pounds over his birth weight!

Hinton's first attempt at using a pacifier. He wasn't so good at keeping it in his mouth, but seemed interested in it when he did.



This picture is supposed to be primarily of Hinton's new belly button! (It took him a lot longer than 7-10 days to finally lose the cord.) It also shows off his newly chubby belly. Losing the cord means that he will (finally!) get his first real bath. I am waiting until tomorrow to do it, because it is Brandon's day off, and I am not brave enough to attempt this for the first time on my own!

Week Two

Here are Hinton pics, week two (taken 11/27).

I was downloading and choosing photos to get printed earlier today and was already looking at the pictures of him taken at the hospital and thinking 'he looks so small!'






He had his two week check-up on Thursday. He had already gained a pound over his birth weight (now 8 pounds, 7 ounces), which the pediatrician was really pleased about. He was also measured at 21 3/4" in length, up 1 3/4". He is growing fast!

I am late again in posting these pictures - we will take week three pics tomorrow.

Cousins

Shawn and Sophia were very excited to meet their new cousin! Sophia was especially fascinated by Hinton, and came running any time she heard him crying (which usually means his diaper is being changed).

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year was the first time my side of the family was all together for a holiday since before my brother or I got married (which means it was at least seven years ago!). It was very fun to have my parents and David, Gilda, Shawn & Sophia all here for Thanksgiving.
