Time to be tourists, Day 1!
First stop, Tokyo Tower. (Even bigger than the Eiffel Tower.)
Views from the first observation deck, 150 meters up.
The kids standing on a "Lookdown window".
You can see straight down through the tower floor.
Standing on a bigger lookdown window. We can actually see their car down in the parking lot in the second photo.
Waiting for our turn to go up to the second observation deck.
The second observation deck is 250 meters high.
Outside the Tokyo Tower there was a game area for the kids.
Shawn loves Pokemon.
Hinton, of course, wanted a ride on Thomas.
Next we went to the grounds of the Imperial Palace.
Hinton was asleep before we even got there.
He woke up eventually.
On the grounds of the Imperial Palace.
We had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe.
Shawn watching a music video.
They didn't have chocolate milk,
so Hinton got his first chocolate milkshake.
He thoroughly enjoyed it!
Hinton had a LOT of fun playing with Gilda's mom,
who met us there for dinner.
Gilda's sister Miko also met us for dinner.
Outside the Hard Rock.
Vending machines are everywhere in Japan.
Here is a "regular" (beverage) vending machine.
And here is an umbrella vending machine.
