Japan, Day 7 (Saturday, August 14, 2010)

This afternoon we went to Showa Park. The kids had a blast!

On our way in to the park, Brandon encountered one of these bugs. I don't know what it is, but it is very big and when there are a bunch of them together (as they seem to be everywhere) they are incredibly LOUD!

First stop in the park: the net area.

Shawn and Sophia really enjoyed it,
but Hinton was never entirely sold on the nets.

Then we went to a big slide.
The first time down Hinton went with Uncle David.

And then he went down dozens of times on his own.
He would fly off the end and land in the dirt.

Shawn also had a lot of fun.
He "surfed" down the slide several times.

Sophia was less enthused about the slide.
She would go down the side, which moved slower.

Hinton was FILTHY by the time we left the slide area.

We moved on again. The park was huge!
Lots of walking in the heat and humidity.

Next we went to a big bouncy rubbery area.
I had never seen anything quite like it before.

Hinton had fun picking ants off the bouncing area.

He would proudly bring them over to us.

Then David joined in the bouncing fun.

And then it was Brandon.

"Attack Uncle Brandon!" didn't work out so well for Shawn.

These are Shawn and Sophia's best exhausted looks.

David also needed a little recovery time.
(It really was HOT and HUMID!)

Our last stop before leaving the park - a mist area.
The brochure encourages to the kids to "be ninjas".
